The mystery cut in the middle of my forehead has healed. My left shoulder seems to be in working order again. Before that it was the right one, which lingered for 2 days and did so loudly enough to dampen my mood for both of them.

Before that, I was bewildered to find the uncomfortably visible marks of a random handprint halfway up my forearm, and even more confused to see that the whole thing lined up perfectly with the fingers of my other hand. I had been gripping my own arm in my sleep hard enough to leave bruises.

Kind of excited to see what the next sleep injury is going to be.

Can’t really offer you a depiction of muscle pain, but I was so confused by the last one I had to share it around. If the vet appointment I’d had that day hadn’t been forcibly canceled, people would have thought I was being beat.

Like the other commenter said, I assure you, you are definitely going to enjoy the rest of your 30s

You need to learn the correct positioning for your body to form the correct posture without pain and consciously enforce that posistion until you learn to do it unconsciously

You also need to learn how to release muscle tension when in bed

A good person to learn from is “Esther Gokhale” and listening to your own body

Spent a bunch of money on a nice new mattress. Back still hurts. Life is pain, just gets worse the longer it goes, and now I can’t blame it on a crappy mattress.

In my life, I’ve tried a soft mattress, then a hard mattress, then a middle mattress. They all were expensive and all sucked.

Or maybe they didn’t and I just can’t expect a mattress to heal or prevent back pain.

What I know is that with my body stature and my sleeping habits, I should be choosing the softest type or second softest at the max. But soft mattresses suck the most.

Right now I have a middle one and I am only experiencing back pain - I mean severe lower back pain that leaves me unable to move - in the mornings after getting up. It gets better during the morning and day. My guess is that it is because I am forced to sleep on my back when I would like to roll over, but I don’t know for sure.

Damn that sounds rough. Definitely sounds like your issues extend past just the mattress. You’re definitely right that there is only so much a mattress can do if you have back complications. It’s worth seeing a doctor if you haven’t already.

Have you tried foam mattresses? Sounds like you have, but if not maybe it’s worth a shot.

I slept with my neck at a weird angle almost 2 months ago and I’m still recovering from that blunder

My back pain got better since I sleep with a pillow between my legs when rolled sideways. Something about a wonky hip thanks to neurofunkiness?
