I’m in a very similar spot. My mom is starting to slip mentally and the further she slides, the more hateful she becomes. Before she knew and were friends with many diverse people. Now she hates their kind. Gays, trans, immigrants, blacks, etc.

I theorize the more you decline mentally, and lose your ability to critically think, the most convincing arguments are most repeated ones. I’ve noticed that the strength of her opinions are usually based on the frequency that she hears it. I can predict how often she’s gonna start ranting about black people, trans pedophiles, electric vehicles by the amount of content she’s watching. The more she watches, the more she argues.

I can’t seem to break her out of this cycle. The right has thoroughly brainwashed her that Democrats and leftists are scum and should only exist to be shamed and exiled. If an opinion or fact is even slightly related to democratic values, she just shuts off and rejects it.

She had a PhD and was extremely successful but now she has difficulty just using the oven. There are days when she is lucid and relatively straight thinking but other days she is entirely unintelligible and relies heavily on hand gestures.

Sometimes I wish she would pass. She causes so much pain for everyone around her (my sisters went no contact) and she is in pain herself. She is so extremely stressed and fears that antifa is going to burn down all of the great American cities, the homeless and blacks are going to ravage and loot everything and the left will be complicit since it’s their “ultimate goal” to destroy america.

It makes me extremely sad.

Seems pretty easy, buy 100mil of gold bullion. It’s around 3100 lb (1400kg) and is relatively small. I think you could hit it under a bed or couch or two. Probably fit it into a couple awkward corners in your closet. Use one as a paper weight.

Its very tender and is an extremely fatty piece of steak. It’s definitely amazing but not quite mind blowing. Sometimes in chuck steak you’ll find a piece with fine meat grain and intense marbling, and that’s fairly comparable to Wagyu.

Wagyu is still beef and tastes mostly the same, just much more tender and fattier.

I use the correct driver, I’ll go through my kit to find the best fitting bit. It simply comes down to the fact they are designed to strip to avoid “catastrophic failure”. Plus the fact that companies use intentionally cheap, soft screws, to make repair and service harder. I work on electronics and woodworking and Phillips are the utter worst of both of them. The thread lock in computers makes them easy to strip when unscrewing. The resistance of driving them into wood makes them guaranteed to strip when screwing. Fuck them.

In the modern era weapons and technology require the coordination and organization of millions of men for a single weapon or consumer product. From the armor, steel, engine, fuel, cannon and shells of a tank it seems too complicated to organize without a rigid government (in fact multiple governments as many parts are imported).

I think anarchism could have only existed prior to the industrial era, where much of your technology, development and manufacture was local to you. From your local baker, blacksmith and watchmaker expecting good faith is a reasonable assumption, however today everything involves such great planning and organization, a powerful centralized entity inevitably becomes necessary. An entity to also protect every step of an increasingly complex and fragile supply chain.

A “primitive” vs “modern” economy is often metaphorically represented by a donkey and jet engine by economists. A jet engine is much faster and more powerful than a donkey, but a single malfunction in its myriad of components leads to explosive decomposition. I’m also concerned that the public would renain unconvinced to regress technologically, most people are willing to sacrifice personal freedom for greater quality of life. I suppose you could join the Amish as an opportunity for a self-sustainable anarchic government.

I’d be more concerned how to disarm the military. Giving someone power, and them willingly giving it back never works. There have been times when a country had no effective military and mere civilians banded together but these were very rarely effective combat forces.

Additionally because of game theory, a “rat” will always exploit everybody’s chillness. It’d be great to not spend a cent on the military but Russia is a rat that uses this opportunity to invade its neighbors. Inevitably you will have to invest in some kind of law enforcement.

Honestly the worst thing about school were the other kids. Everybody are little psychopaths and are utterly ruthless. At work everybody just wants to get paid and no one really gives a shit about other’s business (YMMV though).

Also there’s no homework, which is a godsend as somebody with ADHD. Just show up, work your little butt off and go home, nice and simple.
