Gamers specifically are already noticing the lack in quality over the last couple of years, and it’s only going to get worse. Ah I’ll clarify that I set mine up next to the system drive in proxmox, through the proxmox zfs helper program. There was probably something in there that set up settings in a weird way

No idea why you’re getting downvoted, it’s absolutely correct and it’s called out in the official proxmox docs and forums. Proxmox logs and journals directly to the zfs array regularly, to the point of drive destroying amounts of writes.

I did on proxmox. One thing I didn’t know about ZFS, it has a lot of random writes, I believe logs and journaling. I killed 6 SSDs in 6 months. It’s a great system - but consumer SSDs can’t handle it.

Bullshit. First for you assuming I’m not well compensated for my work, and also assuming that compensation makes up for not seeing your family for weeks. Crunches are normal, mandated multiple weeks without a day off are not normal.

For record, as a developer, I have worked many a weekend in my career during crunch. I was never mandated to do so, and I always made up the time afterwards. Only once in my entire career was it 2 weekends in a row, and it’s because it was a big that was because of me.

From my understanding, I think you’re right, it’s some hybrid between single docker containers and just running k8s. If you’re nearing the point where you need to start distributing your containers, personally you might as well just learn kubernetes. It’s a massive learning curve, but frankly it’s still the best option.

They love claiming they aren’t efficient don’t they? Shifts the blame to the workers and makes it sound like great ideas when they do layoffs. They never fucking listen to the customers.

They keep trying games that will appease everyone, so instead they’re boring and have no great story. They have gorgeous worlds that they fill with endless fetch quests and flat plotlines. Their entire business is telling gamers what they want instead of giving gamers what they want. They deserve to fail with how arrogant they are in this space.

And I haven’t even gotten to the fact that I don’t want to buy any games from them because they’re probably just going to delist them anyway!

I use Bazzite (which is steam now but community maintained for more PCs) for my htpc and PopOS for my main PC, both play every game I can throw at it. Maybe it’s time to try it out. I started with a windows dual boot and found myself using it less and less, until just a couple months ago I deleted windows completely

That doesn’t make up for bad container decisions. I run much more complex containers both that split out responsibilities and that contain everything as one container. The size and complexity is irrelevant to the bad design decisions. You can have an image that eats up gigabytes of space that runs off of proper environment/config variables with properly mounted volumes.
