Forget story and mechanics. How’s the humour? That’s the core of Borderlands.
Not even seeing the movie, just media talking about it catches people’s attention.
Thanks for buying into our plans, but it seems we won’t actually be capable of delivering what we promised you. We will still be expecting you to deliver what we want from you, of course.
__________ is still trying to make ___________ happen, could be used to describe way too many tech companies these days.
Seriously. They’re actually betting against their own long term survival and it’s baffling.
Reminds me of when Bill Gates went to Saudi Arabia and argued for equal rights because it would double their workforce.
Could it perhaps be specific models that are no longer manufactured? I was checking out the price I could expect for one of my old PSUs and found that it was apparently a particularly well liked unit for some reason, and so it’s used price was a fair bit higher than expected.
Looks like a Michael Jackson impersonator.
I may be high af miss, but in the morning I’ll smoke some more and you will… will you be joining me?
It’s taking over everything that corporations touch. Despite all their attempts to hide and distract from their problems, they only keep mounting because they refuse to accept the fundamental truth that it is literally impossible to strictly control the entire population the way that their systems are designed to work. Computer technology and the Internet have ironically actually solved our problems, not by controlling what people do, but rather by accelerating the enshitification process to a pace where their bullshit becomes abundantly obvious to everyone.
Doesn’t even take direct pressure from others. Getting published is one of the best ways to gain access to funds/resources, and just as with every other profession many will succumb to the temptation to take shortcuts or fudge the truth in the pursuit of money and/or prestige. I knew one woman who gave up on pursuing a career in cultural anthropology because she had come to believe that getting published was more of an exercise in creative writing than in actual science.
If I remember correctly, wasn’t Bitcoin originally created for trading Magic: The Gathering cards online?

Anybody remember how cryptocurrency was supposed to democratize money or something?
Smokescreen to get people who don’t really understand computers to buy into a system which can be easily controlled by those who produce/own the physical devices involved, while hiding their tracks near perfectly.
Talking about all the policies to hire people based on superficial qualities instead of actual merit, not just with this one company.
I feel bad for those who actually deserve what they’ve achieved, but have a cloud of doubt hanging over them because they achieved it at the same time as all these ridiculous policies.

The CEO of said company is a racist+sexist leftist POC that somehow landed a writing gig at Ubisoft after managing social media accounts of 2 small non-game companies. She was promoted during the first great DEI wave following the Baltimore/BLM protests of 2015. She wrote for less than 3 years before leaving and becoming a “narrative” consultant that somehow gets contracted to shape the narrative of some of the biggest AAA titles… She doesn’t like games and she’s unqualified for the job but the money keeps chasing her regardless. The outcome is that she got rich by being given the chance to destroy your hobby with her deranged world view.
Believe whatever you want, but that’s the complaint I guess?
Some time ago, concerned with toxicity on their World of Warcraft forums, Blizzard Entertainment decided to implement a “RealID” system which would attach the customer’s real name from their records to their forum post. In a sort of “self immolation” protest to show Blizzard how absolutely terrible the idea was, myself and a few others posted our own names willingly before the new system was implemented. It was predictably bad as you might imagine and the plans were scrapped entirely.
