I’ll have to give this a shot. Hyperbolic space is such an interesting mechanic, I really enjoyed Hyperbolica
Fuck off spamming this in every community - this isn’t even a meme
On a more serious note, how the hell do people use GitHub? I was the Gitlab admin at my prior employer (and self-host my own instance) and now I am just a user of GitHub in my new role and jesus does it lack any organization whatsoever, it’s actions are crap compared to Gitlab CI/CD, and it’s projects are a flaming pile or garbage
Not having an insta isn’t weird or what turned her off - being fucking creepy and weird about it then lying is what turned her off… Jesus
Being active on a social network is not the same as having a social life - meet people, make friends, and make an effort to reach out to them. THAT’s having a social life
We’re also seeing supply constrict though at least in my local market - people are staying put because unless they’re throwing up a cash offer, they would also be jumping into 7.5%+ rates. This is exacerbated in markets where secondary homes abound but does present a good buying opportunity if you can afford a year or two of pain before refinancing. A year or two ago anyone looking to finance a purchase was beaten by cash offers.
After using and hosting Gitlab for years and having to move over to GitHub enterprise for my new role… Holy shit does GitHub suck. It’s organization and projects are trash and GitHub Actions barely scratches the surface of what was easy in Gitlab. I don’t know how it got so big with such a terrible UI and limited feature set.
Seriously no nested orgs, shared CI/CD variables, or a kanban board that makes sense (new projects is so much worse than legacy). I hate Github
It’s just funny given the community backlash both companies have faced in recent days
It’s funny you joke about Quibi because those people all went over to Airtable and what do you know, they have turned a great product into a loser because they have no idea how to get their shit together and actually go public. They’re past their series F - they’ve got nowhere to go and the CFO only knows how to fund raise and she gutted their finance department that was actually working to get them compliant enough to go public. A couple years ago or so they fired their controller who specializes in taking companies public and it’s been downhill since.
Sorry for the rant but this is the world and people I work with and have had a front row seat to the shit show (well, more like a few rows back)
Clearly you didn’t read my other replies in this thread where I expressed concern for the innocent people stuck between two warring regimes. Nowhere do I support the status quo, the atrocities being committed by Israel especially in the west bank / Gaza, nor do I ignore the open air prison that Palestinians have been forced into since the 1940s - but feel free to continue putting words in my mouth
Ahh yes, let me pick one genocidal piece of shit to support so as to ensure I am not viewed as smug
Which I get - I’m starting the candidate gathering stage for a fairly senior role and the pool of candidates I have to choose from is already quite small given the requirements and niche product and of course I am going to defer to those I have worked with in the past as I know what they can do. I just find it funny that when faced with a very specific issue that unity picked someone who has a track record of fumbling that exact issue
Hmmm, we have a company who’s success has been largely due to it’s large network of developers and the outgoing CEO tried to destroy that community… Who should replace them? Oh, I know, someone who took another company who’s success was based on a large network of developers and successfully killed that community
Wow, speed running to otherization and dehumanization of those you don’t like. Fucking tankies being nazis as per usual. It’s like horseshoe theory in real time and shows you care more about ideological motivations than the despicable acts being committed so long as they align with you politically (which is funny because both sides here are authoritarian, theocratic regimes)
This is 100% about the disease that is religion. And by your argument, Native Americans have no claims to land because they have been pushed off their ancestral land and have been gone for a long time - or have they not hit the imaginary line in the sand where it’s been long enough that they have “forfeited” their claim?
That too is a bit of revisionist history and if you extend the timeline back a bit you’ll see both parties have semi-legitimate claims to the area (hell, Israelis have been there for a thousand years before Palestine ever existed and before Islam came into existence around ~600ad) and both are religious nuts hellbent on destroying one another. I just feel bad for the innocent civilians stuck between two genocidal, warring factions of religious fanatics. Anyone who tries to claim one side here is more legitimate than the other or is more depraved than the other is just ignoring reality. Obviously Palestine is the “underdog” here but it doesn’t mean they aren’t committing war crimes en masse
Both sides are genocidal, war crime committing, religious zealots it’s just that Israel has the upper-hand due to support from western nations (largely due to Christian zionists in those western countries) while Palestine is largely supported and funded by Islamic zionists from middle eastern countries.
APC is nice in an enterprise-like setup and the management software is really mature. That said, you don’t get much for your money and for a homelab, I’ve been happy with my Tripplite UPS which was about half the cost. I got the expansion battery as well and the whole setup cost me less than $700
SMS support - signal went from being a one stop shop for messaging to yet another standalone messaging app that suffers from a lack of network effect unlike its competitors. The all in one approach was it’s single greatest asset in getting people onto the platform.
There were desires to open up the platform prior, now it almost entirely forces you onto Signal exclusively and any discussion of other clients is expressely forbidden in its official support channels AND in it’s unofficial (yet run by foundation members) channels like it’s reddit sub
And yes, hopping on a shitty bandwagon of features its competitors have is a massive waste of dev hours and indicative of its downward trajectory
What issues are you having with your reverse proxy? Home Assistant is light-years ahead of any other option
