What would you suggest instead (serious question, not meant as snark)? Librewolf? Ungoogled Chromium? Firefox with arkenfox.js blocks the telemetry and many other semi-bad things that FF has baked in.
Shut-in, keeper of weird hours.

I’m pretty happy with Firefox, is there any reason I should try this?

No worries 🙂👍
Is there another similar platform that you know of or use that has more customization options?
Thanks, but on gumthemes.dev it says:
NOTICE: Due to Gumroad’s redesign custom themes are unfortunately unavailable at this time. If or when they become available again I will update the themes if possible. Learn more here
https://help.gumroad.com/article/168-common-css-snippets
The above link just redirects to gumroad.com. Other sites mention paying accounts, and I don’t think they have those any more, just a 10% cut of all sales. An email to support also went unanswered, so I’m guessing that if it was once possible to use CSS with GR it isn’t any more. Too bad if so, because I liked using it, it just needs more customization options.
So I’m even older than I thought?! 😱
“Sick” as in “slick?” “Good?” (Going to add “clueless oldster” to the description on my BH profile page).
Along the lines of a “Fediverse Amazon”, @petrescatraian@libranet.de told me about flohmarkt, which does look interesting. One of its instances can be viewed here.
IA is understandably slow to load these days, but what worries me is the fact that I’ve been unable to search inside their books (very useful for writing and/or annotating Wikipedia articles!). I sure hope this feature can be fully restored…
Ok, sorry, stupid here: what are archived roms?
Seemed like it was a minute or so ago . . .
Update from Mastodon:
I feel that’s even worse than Woocommerce in that regard.
Sorry, I’m a bit confused; which platform are you referring to there? Prestashop?
Will have a look at odoo. Really struggling with this, so your suggestions are very much appreciated.
Ok, good to know, thank you, I’ll bump woo to the end of my list.
@Moonrise2473@feddit.it, is the situation with Prestashop similar to the one that I keep hearing about with WP.org? Namely that’s it’s heavily reliant on third-party plugins which frequently break after updates or are themselves not consistently updated?
EDIT: it might be nice to have something that has the features I want already integrated and not just available as plugins–blog, mailing list, shopping cart, etc. 🤔
Thanks! 🙂👍
Seems to be up now.
EDIT: And down again. 🙁
What did you like about it?
EDIT: If it’s on Github doesn’t that make it OS?
Hmmm . . . interesting 🤔 taking a look now . . .

This is probably my usual naivete about how these things work, but why can’t Mozilla just ask for donations in the way that Wikipedia does (I think I brought this up in another comment a while back and someone explained that Mozilla is not allowed to take donations the way they’re currently set up, but maybe they could change this?)? Also now that K9 Mail has become Thunderbird mail, why don’t they set up a thunderbird.net email domain and charge for it like Tuta or Proton Mail does in exchange for not being spied on?
