If an open source app asks me to do so, I usually give it a five star review. It’s the least I can do to support them and make them visible on Google Play.

Soooo, allow me to explain. I ran out of space on my VPS, so I had no choice but to wipe the images from my Lemmy server (most of them were useless anyways, because I recently enabled the conversion of all images to webp and it fucked up all the previously uploaded images). They were probably federated in time anyways, so I don’t think it’s a big issue.

You don’t have to store the encryption key in the cloud. Just the encrypted data. Signal does it this way.

Yes, they do, but it’s very inconvenient. You can’t access such chats on desktop, no cloud syncing…
