I live in a hot, humid environment. Keeping bread in the fridge helps it to stay good for multiple weeks. If I leave it out, it molds way quicker. I also sometimes will store bread in the freezer to keep it fresh even longer if I know I’m just going to make toast out of it.

  • Similar experience but with an absolutely massive cockroach (“Palmetto bug” for those wondering the scale). I freaked the fuck out lol. I thought my arm was just itchy but it didn’t go away and I looked down and started flailing everywhere.

Sometimes I have an itchy feeling and get paranoid that there is a bug on me. And there almost never is so usually I ignore it. But occasionally there actually is a bug on me so I’m not just imagining!

Bro I get company shills exist, but that’s a big level of paranoia right there.

I swear, some people on the internet act as if you even mention a company name, that you’re some sort of paid corporate shill. No, man, sometimes I just talk about every day things in my life lol.

  • I do know what you mean. Idk, I feel like when in a small enough community as it is being on Lemmy. Only so many people will see this anyway. We’re already a fringe group.

Tbh I wish Biden didn’t have to be an option to begin with. But I’ll still vote for him over Trump. Hell, I’d vote for a bag of rocks over Trump. At least the bag of rocks can’t possibly be gunning to become a horrifying dictator.

  • I did notice he had many moments of straight up disbelief on his face at the thought that he is seriously supposed to be debating these man. I felt for him when he made those faces in those moments.

But this isn’t one of those. Most of the time it just looked like he was absolutely terrified and distracted by something we couldn’t see off screen that wasn’t Trump.

  • I don’t really care about Ghostbusters, but I found this to be a really interesting video. He seems very wise with a lot of his tips and explaining why he does things the way he does.

One of the things that he mentioned that I also have personally found helpful is he said something about pre-portioning snacks so you don’t eat too much.

It’s so incredibly wasteful, but for snacks in my house, I prefer to buy the bulk packages of snack sized portioned snacks (whether it’s chips, nuts, etc.). Thing is, I know it’s so incredibly wasteful for the environment to have things individually wrapped. But when they are individually packaged like that, it’s a hell of a lot easier to see and understand just exactly how much you’re eating and usually stop yourself before you get too deep. Sure, it’s more economical and wasteful to buy a giant family sized package of chips. But when I have to open each individual 150 cal snack bag, it’s a lot easier to stop at only 1 or 2 bags.

Of course, not every snack comes packaged this way. I have thought about buying certain snacks and then pre-portioning them myself like he does, but it involves a lot more hassle and I don’t have anything like a kitchen scale.
