Wow I think I found Bart Ehrman’s Lemmy account lol.
In seriousness though, that was a great read thank you.
I wouldn’t blame the scholars who misclassified it too much. If I read it without knowing anything about it I would probably make the same mistake because secret knowledge is a big focus in it.
Do you reckon Thomas’s author had access to Q ?
Some of the sayings in the gospel of Thomas are so strange.
"Jesus said, “Lucky is the lion that the human will eat, so that the lion becomes human. And foul is the human that the lion will eat, and the lion still will become human.”
Lol the fuck does that mean?
Dude needed to be fired years ago
Threw up in my mouth a bit 👎
He also couldn’t be more fucking wrong about Genesis. It’s probably the most heinous thing about him tbh.
The loss of Ken Rolston and Kirkbride and the rise of Emil Pagliarulo is what fucked the elder scrolls writing.
You shouldn’t hand your big epic fantasy world to a guy who couldn’t give a fuck about the lore or stepping on the toes of other writers.
Any product that releases in such a poor state and expects full price definitely deserves the hate. The game was unplayable on half the platforms it released on for months.
“A kind of Fable - Black and White - Dungeon Keeper kind of experience”
Three remarkably different games there. Ol lyin Pete just wanted to mention the greatest hits to drum up interest in his nft nonsense.
Their biggest, most consistent fault isn’t bugs orjank, it’s the stale as fuck writing. They desperately need the hand the reigns to some new talent in that area.
It feels like they’ve been incapable of writing a compelling narrative with interesting characters for decades now.
Oblivion is pure comfort food to me. Sure it’s a broken mess to the point where it’s best not level up, but it just has this serene vibe to it.
I’ve played and finished every mainline non MMO FF game and hated everything after 10, so I wasn’t exactly hopeful that I would enjoy it.
It’s the 5th best in the series for me after having finished it a couple weeks ago. I used to think the loss of Sakaguchi is what killed my love for FF but now I realise it was the lack of well written likeable characters that did it.
I will say one thing though, while a great game it’s not much of an rpg. There’s pretty much no variety in how you build Clive.
China is communist the same way America is a meritocracy
That Wikipedia article has zero mentions of cannabis.
I’m not one of these people that thinks it cures cancer or anything. But comparing it to morphine just muddys the waters.
It is absolutely safe enough to be recreationally legal. Morphine is not.
If you think morphine is comparably dangerous to cannabis then you’re nuts.
Polish man goes to opticians
Optician: Can you read the last line for me please?
Polish man: Read it ? I know the guy!
You should. I printed out a screenshot when I got blocked by Rudy Giuliani on Twitter lol
“I don’t think there is a Q”
Maybe this is Mark Goodacre’s account instead of Ehrman.
It seems to me more likely that there’s more of the historical Jesus in Thomas than there is in John and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was written earlier.
Thanks for the read. I’m someone who only recently started reading about early Christianity recently and it absolutely blows my mind how diverse the theology was so early.
