During the initial mass migration from Reddit I got the impression a lot of people were starting communities on Lemmy that had been successful on Reddit but put no effort into them. I’ll bet there is a statistic yet to be figured out that says you need a million platform members before you can have enough members to sustain a niche community like c/gothcountry.

Haha my city had a Dick’s Last Resort, it was fun! My favorite story about that place is when my boss and his wife (unknowingly) went there with another couple. They were VERY proper Brits (in the US) in their mid 70’s. The husband of the other couple wanted to know if there were seeds on the sandwich bun . My childhood fear was getting the vaccine shot for the swine flu which was a big issue in the mid 70’s. My 5th grade class received new text books and there was a photo of a kid getting the vaccine shot. I leave a gap between me and the driver in front of me. Rarely does anyone pull into that space. They usually are in the lane that gets them where they need to go

From above the whole thing looks like an accordion. Drivers who tailgate tend to overreact when they see brake lights 50 feet in front of them, compound this by the guy tailgating them and so on. Leave a buffer to absorb this and it smooths out
