In order for everyone to just freaking go, their cars would have to be attached somehow.

I wonder if anyone’s ever thought of linking a bunch of cars together so they can all stop and go simultaneously. And hey, since the cars are attached and all need to go to the same place, we can build a track instead of using high maintenance rubber on pavement and-

    oop, we invented trains

When people are talked down to, they often dig in their heels due to an emotion called psychological reactance. The reactionary ape that still exists in every human feels challenged and that ape will not allow reason to stop it.

If you see such a reaction and allow yourself to believe “well that person was just an immature child”, you risk giving yourself license to keep talking down to people. Repeat ad nauseum.

It doesn’t matter that you’re objectively correct about the effect meat has on the biosphere if you just keep going around that circle, creating 0 new vegans every lap

  • To expand a little bit - the ridges of your outer ear will attenuate certain frequencies of sound more than others depending on the height of the source relative to your head. Animals that don’t have these outer ear ridges can still find the source of a sound laterally since they have two ears, and tilting their head tilts the plane of their ears letting them get some vertical sound perception.

In the smarter every day vid on this topic, they had a blindfolded person point to the source of a sound (succeeded no problem), and then packed clay into the outer ear ridges to mess with that sound attenuation. The person was able to keep their lateral sound perception but the vertical was all over the place.
