I just can’t get over how it happens to so many people every fuckin year.
Yes it’s probably too much oil.
Yes you should thaw the fuckin turkey first.
Yes you should probably do it outside so you at least only burn your own stupid ass and hopefully not the whole damn house
You’re forgetting…
Yes you should have a tripod with a steel cable and a safety catch that allows you to lower the turkey into the oil slowly without the chance of it dropping suddenly.
Behold, ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, citizens of the universe: THE TURKEY DERRICK!

Here is an alternative Piped link(s):
Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.
I’m open-source; check me out at GitHub.
The first time doing mine I was nervous, but I quickly realized most the problems are from people not using common sense.
Call me captain depth charge, because I’m reckless with dethawing. /j
A few years ago, William Shatner did a PSA about exactly this.
Beer-can turkey gang, fried makes it far too greasy IMO
I’m in the ‘turkey is overrated’ gang and we usually make anything else for the holiday. Sometimes we just get a fuckton of Chinese American food same stuffed to the gills feel and way less work
One of my post-thanksgiving things: binge-watch deepfry turkey videos.
When is US thanksgiving this year?
Cook high heat - low time
Crispy outside, moist inside, and way less grease
