People’s sense of the reality of the situation can overcome that inertia … and that sense was carefully tended to by the communications of the oil and gas companies … and an economic system that has widely communicated for decades the idea that growth - based in unending consumption of resources - is the end-all and be-all. Their communication was the best in the world … for them, and to the detriment of all the rest of us.
