Well that was a fun rabbit hole of reading about this Peter guy. Never heard of him before. His interview with RPS is just too funny. He really is a pathological liar isn’t he. Amount of times he contradicts him self just in that interview is hilarious He reminds me of my dad (not a compliment) I can’t believe I never heard about the inside the cube or the nightmare around his Godus kickstarter. Now his company is working on a game that you can earn crypto by playing? That seems right up his alley. Awful cash grabs. Claims he got a brand new game in the works nothing like his previous (where have we heard that before?)

He used to be quite a big deal, but he’s definitely the kind of guy who desperately needs higher ups to tell him “no” when his ideas become unmanageable. And also, he needs a filter until the game is released, he just can’t do his own PR.

Some of the games he worked on were unique. There was really nothing else like Populous, Dungeon Keeper, Theme Hospital, Black and White. Fable ended up a way more traditional game than the crazy stuff he hyped, but it was still pretty good.

And I’d love a new take on The Movies, a rather obscure mid-00s management game about making your Hollywood studio. Kind of like Theme Hospital with more star tantrums and a continuous chronology over a century with technical progress and events. And weirdest of all, the ability to influence your movies and make them actual custom video clips by taking temporarily the chairs of writer, director or editor yourself, choosing sets and cast, stitching scenes together, choosing camera angles, etc.

I wish him luck in creating interesting games, but long ago learned not to trust any of his recent hype. Populous and Dungeon Keeper were very good.
