I’ve read before that this varies around the world with culture. In some places (US, UK) typical players presented with a create a character screen default to trying to make themselves. In other places (Japan) this isn’t such a thing. In reality there’s no real reason that when creating a character it should look like you. I assume everyone watches and enjoys movies where the main character doesn’t look like them. Why should it be different for video games?

As someone who played korean MMOs for most of his youth, women were the only choice as every male skin looked like he’s wearing painted cardboard lmao.

Female V has such an amazing voice oh my god. Not like every other voice actor in the game isn’t an absolute genius, but man does she hits the mark all the time

Keanu Reeve’s voice acting is pretty sub-par most of the time. And even in Phantom Liberty, especially in the beginning Female V (played by Cherami Leigh) sounded a bit off, as if she needed to find V’s voice again after how much time was in between the main game and the DLC. But other than that I have to agree, top-notch work. Made in Poland ;)

It’s the best Keanu acting possible! I love the man to bits, he’s an absolute treasure and should be cherished, but he can’t voice act for shit.

I agree that voice is what matters, but I feel that femshep is way better than male shep. Agreed on V, though.

For me it’s not even about gender identity or role playing. If I’m going to spend 200 hours in a 3rd person RPG looking at a character’s ass, that ass had better be female.

Since the dawn of gaming I always picked the more aesthetic choice, which mostly is the female choice. Never cared about the “u play woman? U gay!” Idiots…

A lot of male characters in games kind of look like they’re compensating for something. I’ll play any character type though - like the variety.

Unrealistic. Lacks modded bazoongas bigger than character’s head.

Listen to “lady of the dark” from Sabaton, you’ll automatically create a woman character named Milunka whatever gender you are.

You’ll be fully immersed and you’ll feel Serbian even if you’re from another country !
