PS4 and Switch? What year is this?!
My guess is that they wanted to target the widest audience possible and with the PS5’s backward compatibility they got to release it on the PS5 for “free”.
(yes, they are missing the Xbox audience, but technically you could play the Xbox 360 version on Xbox One and Series)
They’re also missing the huge PC market. I’d honestly be 100% happy if they just released it with an emulator packaged with it, just give me a convenient way to play on PC.
That’s not what I wanted, I wanted RDR on PC 😟
Anyway, it’s extremely weird that they chose to release it on PS4 with backward compatibility to PS5 🤔 (according to Rockstar)
This gives me a little hope that we can at least emulate the PS4 version (
using pcsx4). This can be done already with the PS3 version but the requirements are hefty and it’s pretty clunky.Edit: nm, pcsx4 is scammy and bad news.
pcsx4 is a scam please don’t download that or tell anyone else to download that.

My thinking was the graphics themselves actually, on the assumption that the Switch version wouldn’t look as good, but wasn’t considering that this is an old title so probably won’t matter

Well shit… hadn’t looked closely into it but that all makes sense. Thanks for the heads-up!
I wanted RDR on PC 😟
RDR on the XBOX emulator is awesome!
The last time they re-released something it went so well…
Yeah, it’s like they’re speed-running ticking everyone off.
All I wanted was a mission pack for RDR2, or even a direct port of the original to PC with the frame rate cap removed.
This is almost worse than releasing nothing imo.
Can’t we have a new game instead please?
