Base GNOME isn’t much larger than MATE.
He meant lighter as in performance wise.
Still is about as light performance and memory footprint wise when talking about GNOME 46.
If I’m honest, I forgot what MATE was, so yeah I reviewed it and it still seems a bit lighter, but not too much.
Yeah MATE is lighter but the margin is small since it’s basically GNOME 2.
