For nearly $6,000 a year, users will be able to access new features, such as “VIP” search, matching and conversation, that aren’t currently provided with its existing paid plans, it said, without providing further details.

Then it goes on to talk about how lots of dating apps have outrageously expensive plans, up to $1k per week. Also Tinder isn’t doing so great but they expect this will turn things aroind.

    Saved you a click.

    https://www.help.tinder.com/hc/en-us/articles/15408075254797-Tinder-SELECT-Membership

The skip the line feature, where your photo is shown in the likes you grid for all users is interesting. But nothing in here is worth $500 a month

Direct Message: Up to 2 times a week, you can send someone a message without having to match first. Note that you can only send a DM via the Likes Sent tab, you can’t send a Super Like at the same time and some users may opt out of receiving DMs.

Skip The Line: People you like will see your profile unblurred in their Likes You grid, even if they don’t have a Gold or Platinum Tinder subscription. Your profile also remains prioritized on their Likes You grid for 7 days.

Special Status: Show off your membership with an exclusive SELECT badge. If you’re not interested in adding this badge to your profile, you can opt out of it in your Settings.

SELECT Mode: See and be seen by Tinder’s most sought after profiles, so you can enjoy more exceptional connections. VIP Experience: Membership spots are limited to less than 1% of users to ensure you receive the most exclusive experience possible.

If tinder wanted to improve its revenue, it should keep improving its user experience. They got swiping and messaging. And that’s it. They don’t have organization, they don’t have follow-ups, they don’t have find my matches by location, they don’t have a notes field, they don’t have show me people currently online.

There’s a huge amount of UI improvement just sitting on the table that they’re not touching. If they close that gap they could just be the ultimate hookup app forever.

They’re leaving more casual hookup apps like Grindr, just to innovate, and grab their user base.

hell they hardly have messaging. Dating apps suck all around and you really barely get any additional functionality when you pay for a normal subscription
