Looks around.
Me: Did you see that?
Brain: See what?
Me: Exactly. Just keep driving.
Me driving: “Is anyone around? Cause if not I’m about to pull some real bullshit.”
proceeds to do a kulbit with a car while drifting
“No one died, we’re cool.”
When I started driving again recently after a 20 year hiatus I was getting upset when I made mistakes; running stop signs, forgetting indicators, etc.
But then I realised all I was doing was making it hard to concentrate, which could lead to more errors, maybe even a fatal crash.
I quickly adopted this “Oops that was illegal but it’s fine” attitude. Notice my mistake, and move on.
It’s probably a healthy mindset to be hard on yourself for running stop signs, you’re gonna get somebody killed dude
It’s only murder if they die.
I already had the motivation to drive correctly, getting upset wouldn’t improve that motivation, just make driving more difficult.
I pride myself on being a safe and courteous driver. We all make mistakes, especially when learning.
“DAMN! I ran the red light. But actually it wasn’t my fault, the light switched to yellow just as I was checking my rear mirror, I had no time to react by the time I glanced forward again. Oh well. It’s fine.”
– Maybe me.
get of the car, take the bus
Perhaps if there were some around that had any chance of taking me somewhere I wanted to go
you know there’s plenty of people that live outside of cities where there is no buses right?
There are buses in the countryside as well here.
well that’s a good thing for you but in the United States it’s a very rare thing to have buses in rural areas other than for school kids
then fix your country, richest of the world, shouln’t be so hard… /j
Honestly tho I’d kill for better public transportation across the country
Some of us are trying but it sucks ass.
I’m lucky enough to be able to afford my own car/transportation but I worked at a FedEx Warehouse years ago where most people took the bus. Right around the time I was leaving, they were moving the branch 5 minutes down the road, but across a bridge to another jurisdiction. Busses from the city don’t run there because it always gets shot down that it will “cause crime”. The country busses aren’t that good, but at least it takes people to their jobs. I remember most people were freaking out and planning car pools from the bus stop to the new location. I haven’t talked to a lot of people since then, but the few I have seemed to find new jobs.
OMG the US is not a real countryz you can’t convince me otherwise.
USA isn’t a country, it’s a reality show.
